Renovation done! Well ... almost.

It has been a long time since I last updated the space here. These are what has been ongoing. :)

Wall papers are up! Finally! The wallpapers from maindoor entrance walkway to one of the side of the dining and living room wall in grey. As well as the modern black, grey and white stripped wallpaper in my master room.

The wallpapers are from Picket and Rail. Happened that we saw the promotion they have one of the day when we were walking around at Citysquare Mall. And hubby just happily placed order for it.

The curtains are up too. As The Koh Tree new home is facing west sun, it is good to have curtains that provide a certain level of block-out. The service we got from First Curtains is superb. The boss is nice enough to change the whole piece of curtains even with a small area of "defect" on the curtain, and his turnover time for the change is only 2 days.

The curtain guys are so attentive to details. When the curtains are up, they make a effort to keep all the folds of the curtains neatly and nicely tucked with the tassels provided. This is the first time I see curtain guys doing that to ensure their curtains look the best.

The cabinets at dining area, television console, my master bedroom cupboard, workdesk and bed are all in as well. Just pending a bit of touch up on the cabinets, cupboard and workdesk, plus a bit of cleaning to be done. Then all ready for the big move!

Christmas lights @ Vivocity

Christmas is coming! Usually this period of time, hubby will be suggesting to me to go take a look at the Christmas decorations and the lights at Orchard Road and in various shopping malls. This year, Hubby and I have been busy with the house, hence did not really pay too much attention to the festive season lightings.

Last weekend, hubby suddenly decided to bring the kids into Sentosa to catch the fireworks at USS. However, as the weather was bad, we only got to go in at about 8.30pm. That was too late to bring the 2 younger ones in as they already had a few late nights and early mornings for the past days.

In the end, only hubby, B and myself went in. USS, here we come! (Hahahaha ... we were only at the outside of USS).

Christmas lights at USS

The place was nicely decorated for the season. At 9.30pm sharp, the Christmas theme fireworks begin! Made up of lots of nice silver, gold, red and green fireworks hence the Christmas theme. We were only able to catch a glimpse of the higher fireworks, yet were still fascinated by it. I am sure it looks million times nicer if we were catching it in USS itself.

After the fireworks, we headed back to Vivocity via Sentosa express. Hubby wanted to grab a drink before heading home, hence we walked out of the mall to the outdoor area to get to the foodcourt. This huge Christmas tree greeted us!

This tree has been around for many years, and I think that this is one of the nicest decoration they have put up. Super cute hot-air balloon below the tree with "snow-covered" backdrop for photo-taking.

See the adorable owl perching on the tree?

What a surprise finding we had on a night out to catch fireworks. :)

Renovation update 1

1.5 weeks has gone by since the day we started renovation on our house. Hubby and I have been busy running around, getting lights, mattress, as well as calling up to delay some delivery to our house as we foresee some major rework to be done in the kitchen.

This is what our house looks like 5 days after the start of renovation. I sort of regretted my decision to go ahead with the complex false ceiling for cove lights. The whole place looks like a mess with wires all around, power points dug out from the original locations. Hubby has to pacify me to hang in there and wait to see how things will turn out.
Wiring running all over, with metal beams for false ceiling. Power points to be relocated.
2-3 days later, the false walls and ceilings have been covered by plasterboard. These are the pictures hubby whatsapp me when he went to meet up the balcony decking person to get the balcony and planterbox decked up.

Seriously! I had a bad fright of my life. With the false wall (contractor terms it as wall partition) up, it makes the whole place look so cramp and messy! By then I really wondered how it can look nice after painting ...

Just another day after, this is what we are seeing ...

The painting for the house is done! Now the false wall and ceiling looks much neater. Waiting for the lights to be up so we will get to see how it looks like clearer.

Stay tune!
